Children do not always cooperate during medical visits. There are many reasons for this – the child’s age, the child’s previous experience with the “health service”, the child’s current health condition, and sometimes the child’s normal mood or degree of tiredness. However, during the visit, an ENT examination is necessary and we must prepare for it.
How can we help your child:
– you need to talk to your child about the visit and the need to examine the ears, nose and throat.
– encourage cooperation during the examination, assure the child of the parent’s safety and closeness.
– try to make sure your child is rested
How to prepare your child for the examination:
– 1 hour before the visit, the child should be instilled with Nasivin/Otrivin/Sudafed aerosol medicine, using 2-3 doses into each nostril, pointing the applicator at the side wall of the nose.
– for an ENT examination to assess tonsil hypertrophy, the child should be healthy, without any acute infection, especially catarrhal infection.
